Selvfiks.net, which is owned by Gartit Creative AS, is strongly committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe online experience for all our users. This Privacy Statement deals with personally identifiable information that we collect about you through the Selvfiks.net Services (Selvfiks, Selvfiks Store, and Selvfiks Travel), which includes all articles and videos and other services we provide on the Sites. Read the full statement below and contact us if you have any questions. This Statement is part of and incorporated into the Terms of Use of the Website.
If you are not comfortable with these policies or terms of use, you should not provide us personally identifiable information or other information or content or otherwise use the Site.
Point A; What information can be obtained from Selvfiks.net, and how is it collected?
Point 1; Type of information we collect.
We use the Facebook plugin so you can use your existing Facebook account to access the features of the site. You need to explicitly grant Facebook permission to share information with us when you first log in to the site with your Facebook credentials. (This feature applies if you want to become a writer and register through facebook) Cookies from facebook are used on the website to allow you to share content, like our facebook pages, etc.
You should review privacy settings on your Facebook account because these settings determine and control what of personally identifiable information, hereafter abbreviated to PI, can be made available to us when you access the site. While Facebook allows us to access a wealth of information about you based on your Facebook account’s privacy settings, we only use access to your PI, only to do what we feel is useful to improve your site experience, including name, gender and geography. We may also collect any information you provide on the site or provide us with any other means (such as through an email, survey, or letter).
Point 2; Information in public areas on the site;
Please note that when you voluntarily provide information in public areas of the site, this information may be viewed and possibly used by others. We therefore advise users not to disclose contact information, including telephone number, email address, street address or other private information (within these public areas) that they do not wish to share. We are not responsible for the PI you choose to send in these public areas.
Point 3; Cookies / biscuits;
Like many other websites, we use cookies or as better known as “cookies”. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive via your browser so our systems can recognize your browser. We use persistent, identifiable cookies to remember your information and to associate activities with you. But you can even take steps to block or disable cookies, if you do, you cannot expect Selvfiks.net to work and appear as we intended. Still, if you want to take these steps, you can do so by following the instructions associated with your browser. Our cookies do not collect PI that you provide to us during the registration process, but they collect other information such as the following:
the domain name and host to which you access the Internet and the web address of the site;
the date and time when you accessed the site and the pages you visit;
the computer’s IP address and information about the operating system, platform and browser and version you are using;
demographic and other non-personally identifiable profile about you, and
information that can be used to combat fraud or abuse.
Our cookies are mainly used to measure activity on the web pages, display custom ads, remember choices you have made in connection with eg shopping in the shopping cart on Selvfiks Store or travel you have applied for in Selvfiks Travel.
Point 4; Collection of information from third parties.
Our site may contain third-party advertising, links to other websites, and other third party content. The content posted by these parties will be reasonably identified so that it can be seen from a third party.
We do not release any PI to these advertisers, third party websites, or any other business, but sometimes we may mutually share non-personally identifiable (eg, demographic) information to facilitate the delivery of relevant ads. These third-party websites, businesses and advertisers, or advertising companies that work on their behalf, sometimes use technology to deliver (or “earn”) in the ads that appear on our site directly in your browser.
They automatically receive IP addresses when this happens. They can also use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons (also known as action tags or single-pixel gifs) and other technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to customize or optimize advertising content. We do not have access to, or control over, cookies or other technology that they may use, and information that is practiced on these advertisers and third party websites or businesses is not covered by this statement, but is covered by their respective privacy policies.
Some, but not all, third-party advertising companies offer a mechanism to opt out of their information retrieval.
Point 5; Promotions and competitions.
From time to time we can arrange promotions or competition on the site. You may be asked to provide PI or allow transfer to a third party of your PI in connection with such marketing or competition. It will be given at the time of notification that the information gathering or transfer of information is taking place, and whether our own privacy statement applies then. The responsibility will then be given to you if you wish to allow such transfer or collection of PI to a third party.
Point B; What does Selvfiks.net do with collected information?
Point 1; Use of PI (Personally Identifiable Information).
We can use your PI for purposes such as responding to your requests, observing, maintaining your account, and providing you with advertising and non-advertising content on the site that we believe will be of interest to you, enforce our rights and the rights of third parties, and examine and ensure compliance with the Terms of Use.
Point 2; Unsubscribe.
Users can unsubscribe from any newsletters or opt out of various promotional email mailings they may have agreed to. You can at any time by sending an email to the same sender address, or by clicking on “unsubscribe” or “unsubscribe” the links in each of our newsletters or emails. We reserve the right to send you regular business communications such as acceptance / rejection of content submissions, general system and administrative messages about the site, address confirmations, and transaction information about your account, and we cannot offer you the option to opt out of receiving such inquiries as long as you are registered on Selvfiks.net. But we give you the opportunity to choose not to receive other types of communication, such as friend requests or other forms of self-notification. If you want to update your email address or stop receiving such messages, you can opt out of these messages by following the unsubscribe or unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or completing the “contact us” form on the website.
Point 3; Use of other information.
We use non-PI for our users to measure the number of visitors to parts of our site, making the site more useful to visitors and deliver targeted advertising and non-advertising content. We use IP addresses to analyze trends, manage the site, track user movements, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate, non-personally identifiable use.
Point 4; Storage of information.
We keep information as long as necessary allowed or we think it is useful, but we do not undertake retention obligations other than those imposed by the Norwegian law. We may dispose of information in our discretion without notice, in accordance with applicable law which specifically requires the handling or retention of information. You must therefore keep your own backup of personal information you use to log in to Selvfiks.net.
Point 5; Generally.
Subject to the terms of this Policy, we reserve the right to the following worldwide: use, access (or access to), process, disclosure, display, share, transfer, store, sell, retain, investigate, control, prove, and otherwise relate to, voluntarily or as required by law, (collectively “disclose”) all PI, non-PI and other information. We may make it foregoing internally to third parties or through any databases for any purpose that is not prohibited by these guidelines or, at its sole discretion, to help prevent or resolve perceived harm, damage or loss to us or others, or to respond to summons, search orders, court orders or other legal processes. We reserve the right to send you regular business communications (ie, acceptance / rejection of content submissions, general system and administrative messages, etc.) without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. But we give you the opportunity to choose not to receive other types of communication, such as friend requests or other selfiks.net messages. If you want to update your email address or stop receiving our Selvfiks.net messages, you can unsubscribe from these messages by following the unsubscribe or unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
Point C; Does Selvfiks.net share information with other parties?
We share information with third parties, but only as described in paragraph 4, cf. point A.
Point 1; Advertisers and others.
We do not share personally identifiable information with advertisers, service providers, and other people with whom we conduct business. Similarly, these advertisers, service providers, and other people may share with us non-PI about you as they have independently gathered or acquired.
Point 2; Third Party Services.
We have contracts with affiliated and non-affiliated third parties whose mission is to provide services to us or to you on our behalf. Examples include providing marketing assistance, providing customer service, sending you emails, removing customer list repetitive information, and analyzing data. These third parties may have access to your personal information, but will be required to use this information solely for the purposes of this authorized business.
Point 3; Undertaking.
While we are developing our site, we may sell or purchase businesses or their assets, or participate in transfers, acquisitions, mergers, restructuring, control changes, or similar transactions. In such transactions, customer information is generally one of the transferred assets, and your PI may be subject to such transfer. Also in the case of a bankruptcy, PI can be transferred to a bankruptcy trustee or debtor in possession and then to a new owner.
Point 4; Compliance and security.
We may release information when we believe the release is appropriate in:
compliance with applicable law and to respond to legal requests and to respond to or otherwise make written copyright infringement complaints;
make disclosures under programs meant to prevent potential crimes or investigate people;
enforce or apply agreements, including the terms of use, or
protect the rights, property or security of our site, our users, or others, including the exchange of information with other companies to protect against fraud and reduce credit risk.
Point D; How secure is my information?
Point 1; Your commitments.
You are responsible for protecting yourself from unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Please sign out when you are finished using a shared computer. Your emails to us are not necessarily secure against eavesdropping so do not include sensitive information in them. We are not requesting passwords in an email, and you should assume that if you receive such a request, it may be fraudulent. YOU MUST DO WHAT YOU MAY reasonably do to ensure the safety of your personal information.
Point 2; Our security measures.
We take reasonable precautions to protect the safety of our users. We have physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to help protect, prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and properly use your information. But neither humans nor security systems are foolproof, including encryption systems. In addition, people can commit intentional crimes, make mistakes, or fail to follow the guidelines. Therefore, while we use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Point E; What about links to other websites?
Point 1; The site contains links to other websites.
We are not responsible for the privacy of other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements on each site that collects PI. This statement applies only to information collected by Selvfiks.net.
Point F; What does Selvfiks.net do when there are privacy changes?
We reserve the right to change our declaration at any time. Non-material changes and clarifications take effect immediately. If we make non-material changes, we will provide this information at the top of this page with the revised document’s new entry into force. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via e-mail or via message on the website of the website, and this will also be indicated on the top of this page. The material changes will take effect 30 days after such notice. We encourage you to review the statement at least every 30 days to check for material changes to the policy.
point 1; Transfers.
Your PI can be transferred outside the EEA for treatment.
Any transfer of PI done in this respect is assured that your data will be processed only in accordance with these guidelines.
Point G; What if I have other questions or concerns about privacy or this statement?
We self-assess our statements to ensure our compliance with our privacy statement. We periodically check that the statement is accurate, comprehensive for the information to be run, displayed clearly, fully implemented, and in accordance with the principles. However, should there be concerns about this statement, we encourage interested parties to raise concerns with us using the contact information below. We will investigate and attempt to resolve complaints and disputes regarding the use and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the principles of this Statement.
